The Hills Royal Mint is a Hat Tournament put on by Southern Hills Ultimate, based in Mount Barker, South Australia.

In 2017, the inaugural Hills Royal Mint was created with the valued assistance of members of Flinders University Ultimate who were also excited about an annual event in Adelaide Hills to promote/play Ultimate (Frisbee).

The Hills Royal Mint has now won SA Ultimate's Tournament of the Year 2017, 2018 and 2019 and we're confident we can provide you with an experience to remember!

A “Hat” Tournament works via player registration on the SA Ultimate website where each player is then divided into equal number of teams all based on skill level, experience etc. to give each team an even spread of players. Essentially pulling the names ‘out of a hat’.

In 2021 registration will include:

• 88 player maximum registration (max 11 players per team, 8 teams maximum)
• 2 days of Ultimate played at Anembo Park
• Other disc sports and side games with prizes
• Lined fields
• First drink for those heading to Prancing Pony Saturday
• Camping at nearby campsite within walking distance on Fri and Sat nights (inc. late evening fire)
• Lunch on Sat and Sun
• Entry to party at club rooms

Also, part of the experience but not included in the cost of registration is:

• Dinner on Sat at Prancing Pony Brewery
• Drinks at the bar at club rooms party (beer, wine, spirits etc)

Pricing structure is as follows:

• $40 early bird rate (before the 28/5/21)
• $45 general

GETTING THERE

Anembo Park is just off the freeway of the Mount Barker turnoff from Adelaide. At the lights after the exit ramp turn left then follow through the roundabout and you'll see the Anembo Park entrance off to your right. The drive from Adelaide is approximately 35 mins.

CAMPING

The first game will start at around 10am on Saturday so we would love for you to have the opportunity to set up your tent/sleeping arrangements at the Cornerstone College campsite just across the freeway. The cost of camping is covered in your registration and this will allow you to better carpool back to the fields ready for game on. There is a fire pit which we will light when the night starts to get cool/late. This year we're trying to make it easier for everyone to come along so Friday night camping will be an option! And another bonus will be camping options for those who are under 18. Please organise for your own guardian/chaperone if this is your intention. They will be able to camp free as part of your registration.

MEALS

Please mark down your dietary requirements and they will be adhered to. Gluten intolerant? We have your back. Vegan? We've got you too.

Water is available throughout the tournament as well as food/drink from the Anembo Park canteen. This will be stuff like soft drink, Gatorade, ice creams, pies/pasties/chips etc.

Please mark down if you are coming for dinner at the Prancing Pony on the Sat night – this will be  a $35 per-person shared platter menu that includes a 1st course of local cheeses, cured meats and house made pickles and lavosh followed by assorted pizza, salad and fries.

SHIRTS

In the interest in creating an accessible, sustainable and environmentally conscious tournament, this year we will be leaving it in the hands of teams to come up with a colour scheme. Next tournament we plan to create reusable sublimated reversible shirts to use for many Hills Royal Mints to come!  

GAME INFO

We're still in the planning phase around how the pools will look etc. but the idea is to play on Saturday from approx 10am-5:30 or 6pm, then the next day from about 11am-4pm. **More information soon to come - we will announce time cap rules, timeouts, how pools work etc on the Facebook site and update this section here**
